Wedding Attire, Hair and Makeup

Alot of this is still undecided, I have my dress, and I know what the girls will be in. Andre and I seem to have different opinions on what the guys will be in, but here are the ideas for now.

The Brides Attire

I'll be wearing the Julius Bridal version of the Marisa 611J. It's simple and elegant, and exactly what I wanted!

I plan on wearing my sash tied in the front like this, and I have been searching high and low for an antique brooch, which will be my something old.

I recently decided that gold shoes would go well with my dress and overall look. I'm terribly picky when it comes to shoes, and I don't do heels, very often.

I fell in love with these shoes after searching on many different shoe websites for gold flats, however I didn't love their $55.95 pricetag. What follows is a story of fate, of knotties helping knotties, and a hella good deal:

I had shared my frustration in finding the perfect pair of shoes to wear on the day of my wedding with my felllow 10/09 knotties. They were all so helpful and quick to post link after link of shoes that may work for me. I finally found a bronze pair that looked good, had good reviews and, the best part, were on sale. So I ordered them and patiently awaited their arrival. When they did arrive, I was nothing but dissapointed. Again, I shared my frustration with my 10/09 knotties. One of them asked if I hate a second favorite pair I could try instead, so I went searching for a photo of the Daniel Green Calista shoe I had looked at many a times and closed out the window after telling myself I can't spend $56 on them. I googled and clicked on a random website to get the photo off to post for the knottie who had asked about a backup plan. The website happened to be the designers website, but I just copied the photo and posted on the board and explained my woes of loveing the shoe but it just being too expensive. I hit 'post reply' went to close out of the other window, and low and behold, the shining sale price caught my eye "19.99". I almost spit out my coffee. How could it be $55 everywhere else, and only $20 here? "Well then, they only have like size 6" I told myself. I clicked on sizes and there it was, my size, in the right color. And then something else caught my eye, free shipping and free return shipping. It was all too good to be true. I placed my order in probably a matter of 30 seconds. And now I sit, patiently awaiting their arrival. But a big thank you goes out to knottie AMYNGREG for sending me on that fateful google search.

Hopefully I can get a 6-point bustle, similar to this one. My alterations lady suggested a three point bustle, but I am going to discuss doing one like this instead.

I like the way she has her veil placed in her hair, so its sheer in the back, but still full over her hair. My veil will be 54" wide, and will be cathedral length, which I'll probably ditch at the reception and add a flower to my hair instead.

This is similar to the veil I purchased from another knottie. Since I'm only wearing if for the ceremony, I didn't want to spend a lot on it. I like how it's simple and one tier, cathedral length, but it has a little lace detail to t

Andre surprised me with my first pair of real pearl earrings at christmas '08. I'll wear them on the day of the wedding. I'll also be wearing my Mom's pearl necklace she wore the day she married my dad, and the bracelet I'm having custom made to match my hair clip (below).

Something I am almost too excited about is my "Mrs. Last Name Est. 10-10-09 sweatshirt I had embroidered. I bought a white lightweight zip up one on clearance at Vanity for $9.99 and having it embroidered by a family friend for only $15! These sweatshirts online can range anywhere from $50-$70, so I'll gladly take my $25 one. The family friend (also a guest at the wedding) who did the embroidery, did it so high that the hood covered it up. I didn't have the heart to complain to her about it, so I just cut the hood off. It may look a wee bit funny, but oh well. Thats life.

Makeup and Hair

For my makeup I love the look of a dramatic eye with nude lips, and thick full lashes. This one is perfect! I think I may go with gold tones on my eyes.

I really like the look of this make up, I would go heavier on the eyeliner and mascara, but the color tones of this is perfect. from the original budgetsavvybride blog

After going through a million hairstyles, I'm pretty sure this is the one I'll be sticking with. It's all pulled up, yet its loose and romantic, and not too structured. I won't be using a flower, but I do have a hair clip I'll put in after I take my veil off for the reception.

This is the hair clip I ordered from etsy seller Lulusplendor, it's exactly like what I have been looking for. Something with rhinestones and pearls, gold in color with leaf accents instead of flowers, and some parts that extend up and out. Hit the nail on the head with this one! And it was only $19.00. Thanks to 10/09 knottie Juangela for the recommendation! Visit Lulusplendors etsy shop here:

The Ladies

I'm going to let my girls pick whichever dress they want from the same designer in the same color. I don't even care if they are all floor length or all tea length, I just want them to be happy in the dress! I actually prefer the looked of mixed dresses over all of them coordinating. All of the dresses will be in a deep red color, with brown accents if needed. Hopefully we will start BM dress shopping after the new year!

Update: All of the girls have agreed to go with any Floor Length Apple Red dress from David's Bridal, they will be choosing their own styles within these parameters. I am really excited to see which ones they all choose!

Our Flowergirl will wear this dress from jcp.com. I searched everywhere(!) for a FG that would work, and I just happened to find this the very last place I thought to look, the jcp.com Outlet, for only $24.99 and free shipping! Hooray!

The Gents

Andre and the groomsmen will wear Jean Yves Chocolate Parisian Tuxes with chocolate brown microfiber collared shirts.

My dad will wear the getup on the guy to the left, same tux as the GMs but with a white shirt, and a latte or white striped tie. (FI's Dad is a GM, so he will wear what they wear.)

Ushers will wear the same brown tux, white shirts, and the brown striped ties.

This is the best I could do finding examples of tie colors of the guys, they will wear the striped pattern on the right side.

Andre will have the Vanilla colored tie and the groomsmen will wear Claret Red ties to coordinate with the bridesmaid dresses.

My dad will wear the White tie. (FI's dads a GM so, he'll wear what they wear.)

Ushers will wear the Latte or Chocolate ties.
