Flowers

We will be using Cynthia Betts (also my wedding planner) of Des Moines for our flowers. Cynthia has been great at working with me both on cost and on the flowers themselves. Hopefully, *cross my fingers* this will be the last time I change my mind about flowers!

After months of googling 'wedding bouquets', hundreds late night floral blogs, and changing my mind a thousand times, I think I may have found the only options left out there that spark my interest.

During my engagement I have realized a few things; I don't like callas in bouquets, or even a lot of roses for that matter. This certain pickiness has actually allowed for me to keep my flower budget down. I've also realized that I'm not afraid of color, and the all white florals I have been considering just aren't going to interest me for much longer. So I rolled up my sleeves for the umpteenth time and started googling.

My bouquet will be a mix of these six above. I love the texture and fullness of the top two bouquets, without the Callas. The middle left bouquet uses the exact mix of colors I love. The orange Dahlias mixed with the red Roses, and the red Hypericum berries add such a fun pop of color. We will leave out the pink orchids and add orange Ranunculus, and orange Alstroemeria Lillys from the middle right photo. I love how this bouquet will incorporate the orange from my girls bouquets, and the red from their dresses. The bottom two bouquets have the curly willow I hope to My dress is really formal, so I think a bouquet with such unexpected texture and color will be so much fun!

This locket belongs to my grandmother, I will be putting photos of my two grandfathers in it, who have passed away.

I'll be wrapping it around my bouquet like this. I'll also be adding an "L" charm in honor of our son, Lincoln.

The bridesmaid bouquets will be very textural and monochromatic. We will incorporate different orange flowers including Mums, Alsro Lillies, Ranunculus and orange Hypericum Berries.

The bridesmaids bouquets will be French Tied with chocolate brown ribbon in a bow under the flowers, like this, as a nod back to the sash on my dress. My bouquet will be hand tied with white satin ribbon.

Andre will have a bout with orange Alstromeria and red Hypericum Berries, wrapped with either brown ribbon. We will also incorporate a small branch of curly willow. (not crazy about the leafy stuff behind this one, so we will do without anything.) Lincoln will have a similar bout to his Daddy. :)

This Groomsmen will have orange Alstro Lilly bouts tied with brown ribbon.

The Mothers will wear these corsages of red Dahlias, orange Sweetheart Roses and red Hypericum berries. Grandmothers will wear a similar corsage, with either just a red Dahlia and berries, or just the orange Roses and berries, whichever my florist thinks will work better.

My Dad will wear a bout of orange Spray roses and red Hypericum berries.

Ushers will have bouts of butterscotch Mums and red Hypericum Berries.

Our Ring Bearer and Readers will have a bout of red Hypericum Berries.

We will have two altar arrangements similar to this. We'll use orange flowers used throughout the bouquets and red Hypericum Berries along the base and curly willows to add a fall feel to them.

Carnations Can be Beautiful! I know carnations have gotten a bad rap, so I wranted to plug them in my bio for anyone looking for low cost, but stunning floral ideas.
